 ORGANIZATION

In 2011, TCYA in the U.S. was restructured to follow the by-laws and curriculums established by the Tzu Chi Education Foundation Headquarters Research & Development Division. Each TCYA chapter office is under the guidance and supervision of the CEO of each Tzu Chi Regional Office. Individual TCYA chapters can cater the activities to the specific needs of their region and make minor modifications to curriculums accordingly.

The East LA Chapter includes the followinig cities:

Azusa, Baldwin Park, Claremont, Covina, Glendora, Hacienda Heights, La Puente, La Vern, Rowland Heights, San Dimas, Walnut, and West Covina

 

 ACTIVITIES

TCYA work covers a wide range of activities carried out by student volunteers. Some of our activities include:

  1. Recycling Program
  2. Convalescent Home Visits
  3. Hot Meals for Homeless
  4. Creek / Beach Cleanup
  5. Team Building Activities & Classes
  6. Community Outreach Activities
  7. Tzu Chi Summer Camp Assistance
  8. Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
  9. Tzu Chi Collegiate Association Leadership Conference

These activities are designed to bring out the teamwork and leadership qualities in students while imparting on them the philosophies and values of Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation.

  LEADERSHIP

Students can apply for leadership roles after one year of service with TCYA. Positions include:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Activity Coordinator
  • Historian
  • Student Advisor
